What is KoKun?

KoKun is a practical support service for international students, au pairs and young professionals living away from home. We connect you with a KoKun Guide — a trusted local contact who provides practical help, guidance and emotional support when you need it most.

How does it work?

You purchase a 10-hour or 15-hour package and use your hours flexibly for whatever you need — from settling in and navigating local systems to handling work, study or wellbeing challenges. You can book sessions, message for advice, or schedule regular check-ins.

Who are the Kokun Guides?

Our Guides are experienced professionals who understand what it’s like to start somewhere new. They’re culturally aware, practical and compassionate — part mentor, part problem-solver, part safety net.

What can I use my hours for?

Anything that helps you feel safe, confident and connected. For example:

• Housing or accommodation questions

• Finding doctors, dentists or local services

• Work, study or communication challenges

• Feeling homesick or overwhelmed

• Emergency or unexpected situations

• Having someone trustworthy to talk things through with

What isn’t Kokun?

We’re not education agents, migration lawyers or psychologists.

We don’t replace your employer, your family, or any official authority.

Kokun is about the in-between moments — real-world, common-sense support when life gets complicated.

Can parents be involved?

Yes. Many parents purchase a Kokun package for their young person’s move abroad. With consent, we can provide periodic updates so you know they’re safe and supported — without overstepping their independence.

How do you match me with a KoKun Guide?

We match you based on your background, location, language and goals. Before your package begins, we’ll have a short onboarding call to understand what kind of support will be most helpful for you.

Where is Kokun available?

We’re currently based in Perth, Western Australia, with plans to expand to other cities soon.

How much does it cost?

You can choose between:

• Base Package – 10 hours

• Premium Package – 15 hours
